Thanks for all that replied. The dealer did end up replacing the front and rear fenders, seat and side panel. A new heat shield was also installed which covers alot more of the exhaust.
I will have to keep a close eye on it to prevent this from happening again.

05 800 efi plastic melting near exhaust pipes
05 Sportsman 800 efi Has anyone out there had there plastic melt around the exhaust on there 800's???? Originally the rear fender hopped over the shift linkage and melted against the exhaust. The rear fender was replaced. They even added some heat shields that were glued to the back of the plastic. ...
