I did some more looking on the Ranger today and there are two purple wires coming out of the reverse indicator light. One goes on down to the shifter then the one with the plastic thing, but at the end of the plastic thing the wire is gray. The gray wire goes to a switch that never worked then works...

What is this on the wire??????
Had the Ranger out today and still had the shorting problem that kicks the power off. So I hot wire the fuel pump and got some riding in for my daughter. She wanted to drive her Mama around so after paying 46 bucks for the three of us we did get all of the morning in before we loaded up to go home. ...

Regulator wire getting hot
This is on a 1999 Polais Ranger 6x6. The little red wire that goes from the regulator to the magnetic switch gets so hot that it has melted the plastic connector and the regulator gets hot also. I can't find the cause? I'll get some heat sink compound today and remount the regulator, rpm limiter and...

I got the starter done and took it ride around the neighborhood, this will be fun in the snow. I need to find a trailer to rent or something to get it out somewhere to ride really ty it out.

i know this is the polaris folder but does that info apply to all cvt transmissions for example when i stop should i put my yamaha into park or n or just leave it in L or H??? it seems that on a polaris if you leave it in gear you can really hurt the belt thanks for the help and good info.
