Ken,

I can't say I've had that problem, and neither have my brother or father-in-law. We use ours on nearly every ride and we're not "ginger" with them. In the heat they swell like crazy, building up some extreme pressures, but haven't leaked one bit, yet (knock on wood).

Well, try them for 4-5 months... then sell them to me when you decide you don't like them... I'll be riding my new X2 800 around that time.

Sound good Ken?

27" is a little big, but if you get them, I'll probably still bite... win-win???

update... The engine temp sensor ohm's out correctly, and the code 54 is now gone (without having really done anything to fix it). However, after carefully assessing the work involved with replacing the wiring harness, I'll reluctantly pay the $240 to have the dealership mechanic replace it. Chadd, ...

I had a twin air on my 700 for about two months. The sticky nature of the foam filter plugged with dirt that quick. I'd rather use a foam filter as well, just to have peace of mind about catching such a greater amount of the smallest particulates, but I was informed the mass airflow sensor was very ...

So what do you think is the problem? Here's what I think the problem is. Someone with no more experience than I is creating these connectors. They're not stress relieved enough (between wire and connection inside the connector housing.) Fact is, I'm not very good or handy with this soldering busine...

04 700 EFI - wiring problems again...

Ok, After having fixed, then replacing the T-BAP sensor connector, here I am again, 500 miles since replacing it, one of the wires is broken, yet again. It's not broken where I spliced in the repair connector, but rather at the connector itself. This, as some might guess or recall, causes a nice cod...

Alright fellas... I suppose this entire topic has been purely academic discussion. I hope someone got something out of it other than myself. I'll not be putting a pipe, K&N, maybe that snorkel from the 800, and certainly not a programmable EFI module on the 700. This will be my wife's as soon as the...

BC, I wasn't taking into account having to re-map the injection, got me there. I took a look at the mega pipe. It doesn't include a new header-pipe, and still costs 400+ bucks to gain less than ten percent. This gain is consistent with a normally aspirated system. With the addition of a higher flow ...

I run 6 psi in mine too. I do mostly desert riding, as you might guess, BradM. What's odd, at 6 lbs, my father-in-law always comments to me about my tires look awfully low, but they never are. These are undoubtedly the toughest tires I'll ever use. I love them! They'll most likely be the first impro...

No, BC, I've not looked at it closely. That's too bad. I agree with you about a finely-tuned single would out-do the dual they've come up with, but found it hard to take that the dual didn't improve performance, at least a little. I wonder how much power could be gained by putting a nice high-flow s...

Monty, I like your set up. It looks pretty solid from your pic, at least. However, it doesn't look like you've got room for much else. I'll post a pic of the solution I came up with last week, with the help of ideas from others on this site.

Cheers!

I agree...not even worth the effort, but a difference! Your example amplifies my point. If your buddy remapped his EFI, he'd have a much greater HP and torque gain, especially having already opened up the the breather! Let's not forget, when opening up one side...the front (intake) needs to be opene...

Thanks fellas! Tell me something though, Ken... you noticed Chadd wrote: "the polaris engineer told him there was not performance gain" why didn't he put his own two cents in there? I just can't imagine having twice the exhaust flow wouldn't increase performance. It just defies physics and reason! U...

almost forgot, Bill...I just received my "Polaris" front box last night...took 5 minutes to put together and 20 seconds install! That's well designed, eh?

AND, the shipment I'm currently tracking is the matching rear box. Does the rear box affix the same way the front box does?
