I had to have a cigarette after that repair job!! That last little bit with the ball lubing is what took me over the top!

Well, to answer my own question and for future reference, you CANNOT camp at the staging area, there is a sign. You can camp off the "trail" within 100 feet of the road, just not in the staging area. Now I'm not sure about the other parking areas before getting to the staging area, no signs there. I...

I believe the ribbon was put there to symbolize the red tape of our illustrious government and their knee jerk reactionism.

The other "sign" was probably printed rather quickly in a FS office to notify people the trail is closed.
