I suspect that you could get a ticket for riding on the North-South Road as it is technically a paved road. A final report back on my results:

I rode with my rejetted carb at 4000 - 5000 on Saturday -- a noticable improvement! This, coupled with the air filter I changed out previously, have certainly upgraded the sound, feel and performance of my machine compared to when it was new, and stock.

I completed my rejetting adventure last night. It's doubtful I ever could have muddled through it without your photos and instructions, as the directions that came with the DynoJet kit were just about non-existent. The desirable Wyoming coal is mined in a place called the Powder River Basin, an area with oil and gas resources, as well. I hear the demand for this low-sulfur coal has created quite a mining boom there.

Right on!! The same thought occurred to me as I was looking at the pics.

I just ordered a DynaJet kit for my 500. From what I gather looking at the PDF on the DynaJet site, the installation for this model varies slightly from the procedure you followed, Ken (i.e., no plug to drill over the fuel mixture screw). I'll report back once I've gotten into the installation....
