Re: Dog Valley/Peavine

Yeah, I know, I suck. We had no trouble going in from the CA side. I can give you a GPX file that shows exactly how to get there from the Henness Pass/Stampede intersection. Only thing we ran into was some firewood cutters on one of the trails. No biggie. Easy ride too, the road up to Peavine is a b...

Dog Valley/Peavine

We went up to our spot again this weekend. For something different, we ventured up Dog Valley and crossed into Nevada. From there we headed up to Peavine and surrounding peaks. Beautiful day, had lunch and then headed back to camp. Riding thru DV was hot, as was camping. But, since Stampede is so hi...

Re: Carpenter Ridge Ride (FAIL on Meadow Lake Ride)

That is exactly what the end of the Bear Valley Loop looks like. The trail literally disappeared into a tangle of manzanita and mules ear. I turned around and just went out to Cottonwood Rd to get back to the trailhead. I guess the Diablo Wheelers stopped there, because the rest of the trail had bee...

Re: 4 boobs camp trip!

Looks absolutely AWESOME!! What's up with AJ being the big expert?? This is the same guy that I remember riding at Miyagi on a Honda not that long ago. Now suddenly he's telling everyone else how things are done?? Wow. :finger: :p I really want to go up there, I was just checking the map again...

Re: umm what type of coolant does polaris use?

I just use regular Prestone in a 50/50 mix, never had a problem. Make sure to use distilled water or the pre-mixed stuff though, that aluminum radiator doesn't care for tap water.

Yep, typical problem. Wrap the pipe in exhaust wrap, it'll help.

Hey Eric, I have a spool gun that welds aluminum if you want that thing fixed. Just let me know.

How do you think they would do on my AC 650H1 TRV?
Other than the bolt pattern, yeah, they'd be great! :)

They are 4/156 and I think you have 4/115 on the AC.

Re: Wheels/Tires

killer deal but i think 26" tires would kill my 450. Angelo - I may have another set that is smaller than these for sale too. I just haven't decided. They'd be cheaper too. Here's a picture of those. They're STI C7 rims, 14 X 7 with Duro Powergrips. They call them 26" but they measure closer to 25....

Re: Chain Saws?

I've got a Husky 51 with an 18" and 20" bar. As everyone has said though, either Husky or Stihl you cannot go wrong with. Mike - I am jealous of your 365. Had we kept the woodstove I was looking at something in that size. When you're cutting cords of firewood, a 20" bar is just about at it's limit. ...

Wheels/Tires

I've got a set of ITP SS112 wheels with Big Horns on them, maybe 50 miles on the set. I had these on the quad but it's too wide for the toy hauler next to the wife's 500 so I had to go back to stock. I love the combo, but getting them in the trailer takes priority. Rims are 14 X 6 front and 14 X 8 r...

Re: Boca/Stampede Riding

I know the spot. I will stop by and say i if i see your camp. I was just up at Babiits lockout last fathers day and was comming back on the trail that hugs stampede lake on the north side when we came upon a looked gate that prevents contunuing east along the lake to the junction with Heness. Re: Boca/Stampede Riding

Hey Kendo, Do you guys set up camp where you can ride quads from camp? Yeah, we camp right at the Henness Pass - Stampede Rd intersection. There's a dirt road off Henness Pass and several "free" spots off of it. As long as you have a campfire permit, the FS is OK with it. We had a nice conversation...

Boca/Stampede Riding

We made our first camping trip to Boca/Stampede this weekend! I still can't believe it is mid July and this is the first California camping trip we have made. We rode Bear Valley Loop on Friday. Trail is in good shape, looks like the Diablo Wheelers have been up there this year cleaning things up. I...
