Missed that last night :) We are supposedly getting the permits today. We are hoping to be late June, especially since the baby is due August

I didnt know that!!! Hmmm....you are screwing up my master plan  Where do they gate bowman at? Is it gated for snowmobiles or gated as in no entry?

You guys can ride to Graniteville AND Washington, from North Bloomfield Road. Turn right off 49 (just after the Downieville split), drive all the way down to the Yuba River.

You can unload and ride there...however, before the road to Graniteville..it's paved for 9/10th of a mile. My advice is to drive to there..park and unload...you can go all the way to Bowman Lake...(if you can make it).

Now...this track shows us driving through the park...we drove slowly...the ranger told us to go around Back Bone Road. After that..it turns to paved for that one section.

I'm still not sure what we're doing/going. I figure I'll just see where the snowline is and make a plan from there.

Per Sierraville FS. The roads around bowman are still open as they are still logging in there - due to the "lack" of snow fall -

They wanted to make clear though that this area is normally closed thiis time of year and to stay on trails and avoid resource damage as the area is very wet.

Very cool...I bet high enough there is tons of snow. The peak is like 6 or 7000 feet. The roads are fine with us! No way the quads will do more damage than the logging trucks

I'm planning on hitting the road around 8:00 am. Realisticly, after Starbucks I'll probably be lucky to hit 80 @ 65 by 10:00

We were actually a little early. We hit the road abot 10 mins. before 10:00. We were riding by 11:30. We road for a long time before we saw any snow. When we did reach it, I was reminded why solid axle quads don't work well there. My wife Wolverine has very little ground clearance. The 650 Brute has more, but when that axle gets buried its over. It only took about 15 min. before we decided to turn around. Naturally, I had to show off with my new tires and ended up burying myself up to the headlights. It took about 30 min of winching and digging to get myself out. We rode untill about 5:00. Still a fun day of riding.
