Warn winches, RT 25 vs RT 30
I am looking into getting a new winch and can't decide on getting the 2500 or 3000. My question is for those of you that have winches now is the 2500 enough or should I step up to the 3000. Its for a polaris sportsman 700EFI.

Go for the 3.0
There has been times when I was winching a short distance (full roll on the spool) and the winch would stall. I was trying to pull Ken's 800 uphill in the snow. Remember that my 500 only has 250 watts to keep up with the winch.
Spring for a snach block also.

A 3.0 is the best choice in "real life, field conditions" try here:

Definitely 3.0 with the Mechanical brake!!!

same motor, same gear ratio, difference is the plastic gear case on the 2.5 vs. the all metal gear case on the 3.0, and this is an issue, I have replaced the case on both of my 2.5 warns twice on the rear, three times on the front, Montana Jacks has got to be getting tired of me ordering the same 21 dollar part over and over...... the cases do not interchange, due to the larger gear set, same ratio, just larger. I have yet to stall my 2.5s but the gear cases strip out like NOW....
If you have a choice, go the 3.0ce route. YMMV
