Yeah..pretty obvious. It makes sense though....you're not moving....yet 3 wheels are spinning. The front is spinning fast on one side and slow or not moving on the other. Suddenly if that fast spinning tire gets traction...even for a second....Whatever wheel is spinning, that's the direction you're going to go.

Yours isn't as much of a problem, because all the power is going from the fast spinning, to the other tire....in an instant. The locker adds a lag on the CanAm...making the throw.

Of course...i'm just busting Brian's balls....in a bunch of other situations....his quad would destroy ours. I found ONE advantage...and I'm exploiting it!!! LOL

ya mike that does work, im still figurine out how to get the most out of it, but havent worked with the brakes yet though. I want to have a good idea of how long / how hard it engages before i start using the front brake and theres not to many places i can just practice this on. I see from that video though that theres several times it was engaging but i feathered the throttle or backed off and had to start over so some of what u see is operator error as well. Great video by the way

a little fact i just found:
When in a situation where no traction of the front wheels can be found, the Visco Lok senses both wheels slipping, therefore it doesn't know which wheel to apply the lock to and it takesa few rotations of one of the wheels beforeit will thenlock both wheels up and you will go . You have to stay on the gas or it will disengage back to 3wd.

whole post here some good enough on visco-lok and he agrees with you ken about not doing well on rock crawling.

I think I will keep my "2 step" polaris or that.

I've seen Rick Martin from cisco get up some pretty good climbs on his can ams, but its always a strugle because of the front diff.

and fantastic Team America link!!!

And like I said....there's MANY situations...you'd KILL US!! So we have to take what we can get. :)

Sounds like a lot of work and thinking to me. I prefer the "slide yellow AWD switch to AWD and ease into throttle" technique myself. :)

Of course, the quad has to be running first.........

Figured I'd get that in there before someone else did. Yes, my junk is DOA right now. The dreaded 2002-2004 Polaris ignition failure. Just ordered my $450 frickin part to "fix" something Poo should have recalled. Fawktards. And the beauty of dropping almost 5 bills - the quad will run. No better performance, no better mileage, no elimination of hards starts, no gnarly exhaust tone, no premo huge tires - it will run. Man, that just pisses me awph.

OK, I'm feeling sorry for you - really I am. But LOL on your description of the benefits you didn't reap from spending that kind of money on it.

Nah Dude....no point in kicking a man when he's down...and 500 bills to fix a known problem...is as down as it gets.
