Fabricator Needed For Willy's Wagon Project!

Postby Sasquatch » Tue Sep 11, 2012 3:44 pm

I figure this is a good place to start lookin'...

Searching for a good fab-man to hook me up (with a bro deal?) 8)

This vehicle was last "built" back in the '70's using parts from the '60's. Nearly 45 years later, it is well past due for another rebuild using newer technology where available IMO

Not looking to make a wheeler out of it, just a capable/dependable easy-trail rig

I am looking for a competent fabricator to:

*Install matching axle assemblies F&R
*Convert to power disc brake including master cylinder, booster, pedal linkage, ect.
*Convert to power steering including steering column, gear box, pump, bracketry, hoses, pitman, tie rods, ect.
*Possibly swap in newer GM small block if needed (already been converted to GM small block - '59 Corvette 283 I believe)

I am willing and able to locate the parts required for the build (with guidance as to what to search for)

I am mechanically inclined, willing, and able to help contribute labor if needed as well.

Damn Dave, if only this had been a couple of years ago, I would have jumped all over it. I built an '86 CJ (twice!) and then moved to a '66 Nova. I have done everything you're talking about, but sadly, no longer have a nice enough place to do it. (divorce sucks)

If you need any help figuring out what to do and where to get parts, let me know. Pirate 4X4 is a great place to find a lot of the stuff you're looking for BTW.

Thanks Kendo, I will keep that in mind. 8)

I scored a doner vehicle for the matching axles... 1976 Cherokee with front and rear Dana 44's, front disc, power steering, rear drum.

Thats about as far as I've gotten at this point
