ATVOBSESSION

Events are going to keep me from staying over, but I'm planning to be there Saturday morning and hang out long enough into the evening for campfire tales of "gas on!" and then drive out.

Kodiak i could be talked into staying an extra day, and running it again. Ill have to see if my parents will watch my dogs a day longer but id assume they would no problem. You wouldnt need to run out on your boy's wedding just meet up in the morning the later the better for me ;-).

Saturday - Traditional Ride to Washington for lunch and a beer. (Bring money)
Sunday morning - Fordyce again

Night ride...Friday or Sat...whatever everyone feels like...to "Jack's Spot". Usually a beer, some pitch black chat, star gazing and ride back.


I would be honored Dave, if you led the way on Saturday. This is your home turf.

Gee, home turf has been everything off Foresthill Road this season! I haven't been over to Bowman since winter ended in July.

So Saturday it is for me, I'll put in the scenic detour for the ride up from Washington - glad I save all my tracks for later waypoints! ;-)

We'll have to decide how adventurous we are feeling - I'm a committee kinda guy, so there are options... :-)

1) There's a "cheat" that bypasses a gate that puts you on a cool climb after turning off Gaston Grade.
2) After going around Celina Ridge, the 41 road - from above Bowman, down to the road to Weaver and McMurray lakes is pretty fun to continue going clockwise around Pinoli Peak. The long descent running it the other way turns into a fast climb when you run it this way.
2a) If the preference is for those two lakes, then there and down to Bowman Lake and then a side trip to Faucherie Lake - awesome.
3) There are a few out-and-back stubs that are good scenery off the 41 road.
4) There's a nice climb up the side of Quartz Hill off the 41 also. Google Earth shows trails that might lead to the top. I don't remember seeing anything beyond where I thought I was at the end.

we will try to make it! i need a ride in a sxs cause you guys drive to fast for my 4th gear quad that tops out at 20mph!!!!!

Wow, bringing the poncho this weekend! Part of the NWS Sacramento forecast today says:

Saturday and Sunday will have a larger chance of showers and thunderstorms over higher terrain, in addition to a slight chance in the foothills and valley. Temperatures are expected to cool significantly for Sunday and early next week as the low pressure continues to influence the area.

A little rain = less dust!
