Shasta Rock Rollers rides

Postby traildad » Wed Jun 27, 2007 10:32 pm

Well here are some of the different rides I have taken with the Shasta Rock Rollers. They are an ATV club based in Redding. For info about the group go to http://www.shastarockrollers.com/

Here is a Magellan track of the 13 Dips rd. ride. I only went part of the way. the ride continues on to Highway S-3. As the name implies there are many water crossings. It is a very scenic and easy ride. The ride starts at an old logging mill site. There is lots of room to camp but no restrooms or running water. There is a nice creek that runs along side the area. The road in from Highway 5 is a good road.

Natural Bridge ride

Postby traildad » Wed Jun 27, 2007 10:36 pm

On this ride we rode out to a Natural Bridge. It is more or less a large rock that has been under cut by water. It is kinda half cave half tunnel. It is a easy ride and a easy short walk to get to the bridge.

Poker Run 2006

Postby traildad » Wed Jun 27, 2007 10:42 pm

Here is the Poker Run we did in 2006. We had lots of fun on this ride. It is a bit more challenging in some spots. We had to pull my son's 2wd Grizzly 125 up one steep loose hill. One of the sport quad riders spun his tires and caught traction and flipped his quad. A 13 year old friend of the family with only two previous rides was able to make it all the way riding the Grizzly 125.

Fenders Ferry Rd. ride

This one is in a different area. It goes out to a finger of Lake Shasta. We also took a fairly short hike down a rather steep hill to a cave. You can get into the first room but that is as far as you can go. There is a much smaller opening that leads into more of the cave but it has a locked gate blocking it. I think you can get the key from Rangers or something. This is kinda your average easy road ride.
