The only problem with the Fordyce gauge is that it's just below the dam, it cannot account for snow runoff. Generally speaking though, if they aren't releasing triple digit numbers, it's crossable after the snow is gone.

Looking at the way the Yuba was flowing this weekend, I'm sure Fordyce is moving pretty well.

Bingo...we have a winner. I've BEEN on the trail after a freak warm spell/rain melted all the snow.

1) Fordyce was RAGING...I wouldn't have driven a MOG across.

2) The ROAD was 1 foot deep in water coming down the hill to the first water crossing. Ask Jack...it was a trip. There were waterfalls everywhere...water on the road...all headed down to the river...and that was one spot.

The best time for ATV's on the Fordyce is late summer/fall...though there can be a SMALL window in May/June while they fill up the lake and snow is mainly gone.
