I've ridden this area before. There are more miles of trails (mostly rough dirt roads) than you could ride in two weeks. It's mostly high-desert sagebrush through hills and mountain passes. A lot of fun can be had but it's not an "atv area" just a lot of open desert.

When I went there, I just camped out. You can camp anywhere you like once you're out of town. It's all BLM land. I found a good dirt road between Mina and Hawthorne and drove that until I found a nice side road spot to camp about a mile or so off the main road. Get a good topo map and pick a direction to go.

Mina itself is pretty small so don't blink. They do have a little gas station that does tire repairs, a small motel, and a restaurant with a bar that serves good burgers and cold drinks. Nice people and putting on your quad getting through town should not be a problem.

I have not stayed in town at the motel or the campground (I don't recall seeing the campground).

Well what do you know, I don't work those dates. Interesting.
Rincon that's dialed in.

I don't have a map handy but I believe travel time is about six hours from Sacramento.

It's 326 miles from Oroville.............seems like when I drag my toybox trailer with all the stops and the slower travel speeds I average about 50 mph. so 6.5 to 7hrs for me. pretty good est. Terry

This sounds like a good ride. I'll check with My neighbor about getting his large flat bed trailer and I could haul 5 quads. I could do the car pool thing. Meet at my house and load up and go.
