finaly made it. yes it was opened had no problems.this is a beautifull place it was dusty but worth it. we had 8 riders 4 sport and 4 utillity we spent alot of time helping them but they did a good job.when they went home the fun began.

Those are some real nice pictures! Yes, a GPS tracklog or maybe a waypoint or two would be nifty-swell to have. :)

we unloaded in inskip 8/10miles of easy dirt roads to high lakes.couple widgeon will get some gps points for you guys. thinking about going again in a couple weeks.

Found your way into bear lake thats a good trail. It used to go all the way out past Frying Pan Falls till the FS closed it last July. Did you make it to any of the other Lakes?

BTW The FS signed a new Forest Closure oreder on July 23rd and the High Lakes is deffinitly part of it.

There are no fires even close to the "High Lakes" and yet they are keeping them closed. Did you guys see anybody besides firefighters up there?

we went to the end of bear lake trail which is where the water fall in my pic is. we first went all the way to grassy lake that is were the firemen were pumping water out and over the mountain then we headed back to spring valley thats when the sport bikes left. no there wasnt any rangers no signs saying anything.we saw probably 10/12 trucks/jeeps.
