Snow Track Ride

Postby Ken » Sun Jan 31, 2010 5:23 pm

Jack and I had a dude weekend....we hit the Fordyce area and Rubicon. Scott let Jack use his quad since he was in Vegas.

More pics and a video.

The first stuck spot, was a little disconcerting. We used a winch from the quad to pull it backward. No go. So we put a dead line to keep the quad from moving( no small feat with snow knee deep. ). The winch gave up. So we put a snatch block on for more pulling power. It moved 6" and died. So, we started digging much to our dismay. Still no go. Then I told Jack, let's go forward , the tracks float better going forward. BING! 2 seconds later, cruising around no problem.

So when it got stuck in a deep hole, we didn't even try to go backward. We winched forward easily into the creek. Then winched out. Ate lunch and had a blast. :)

Great pictures, those tracks are more and more tempting. Too bad we did not get any snow this year.

Arms? More.

Rest of you? Less, IMO. It's smooth...floating type feeling....not jarring.
