I think Mike has it - but the benchmark altitude is closer to what North Palisade is.

That's my guess. Hard to tell from the picture, I've only seen White Mountain Peak while above it or even with the peak in a hang glider. Nice work avejoe! =D>

Yep, White Mtn. on August 7. It was my 49th b-day. I plan on doing Whitney on August 7, 2012.

I didn't take many pictures cause it was one hard climb. 10.5 miles all above 12,500. I spent the 4 days prior riding at 7,000 plus ft. That and drinking a lot of water on the climb got me through it without any major issues. Just a lot of heaving breathing. Others were not so lucky. Lots of folks were really suffering.
