Grizzly Guy had a mission to validate some routes and spots, so I went along as wing man on Saturday. We left from Little Truckee Summit and rode almost 70 miles around Bear Valley OHV, the Bald Mountain Range, Loyalton, Antelope Valley and highway 89.

You weren't just a wing man, you were also the Official Ride Photographer. Great shots as usual!

That trail (road?) where the deer were was fun, the spring growth made it feel like we were riding cross-country even though it is a legal route.

Killer good area for riding - I liked the "shortcut" from near TV Hill up to the ridge that went down into the deer canyon. Anyone who hasn't ridden this area should - and a sidetip to Verdi Peak is definitely worth it too.

Go north on SR-89 from Truckee about 18 miles. It's an all-year staging area. You can ride on Treasure Mountain Road towards Yuba Pass, or ride where we did - to Bear Valley OHV or miles of roads towards Loyalton or Verdi Peak. LTS is also where you turn for Meadow Lake, the paved road takes you to the turnoff for Meadow or you can go to Jackson Meadows Reservoir.

Hemingray-Again, thanks for the pics and the directions to staging area. There are so many options around I80...I can't believe it! I'll add this ride to my to do list too.

Agree - there's a lot, with FR-19/FR-38 from Yuba Gap, FR-19/FR-45 from Emigrant Gap, FR-85/Rattlesnake Road from Cisco Grove, Bowman Lake etc. from SR-20 and all the LTS area on both sides here.
