Kolpin Gas Pack Leaking

Postby Ken » Mon Nov 06, 2006 8:57 pm

Anyone have problems with the nozzle and cap leaking? BOTH of my packs are leaking!! Only used once!

I'm sure I can get new ones from Kolpin.....but anyone else have this problem?

Leaking when pouring or leaking when stored on the machine?

There is a black gasket that fits around the edge of the nozzle piece. Maybe that is pushed off?

Ken,

I can't say I've had that problem, and neither have my brother or father-in-law. We use ours on nearly every ride and we're not "ginger" with them. In the heat they swell like crazy, building up some extreme pressures, but haven't leaked one bit, yet (knock on wood).

They leak when placed on their side.

I'll check the rubber gasket...I'm wondering if storing them for a year with the screwed tight, crushed the rubber so it lost it's smush factor.

We bought 3 almost two years ago. We used two and they worked fine. Then the plastic insert was broken on one of them. We have replaced different parts from our other unused gas flat and from a used water flat. We can't seem to get it to stop leaking. :( I am not sure what the problem is, but it seems as though it could be the gasket. I know you can order a new spout and cap from Kolpin. Maybe they go bad sitting unused? :? Ken
