Collett head set

Postby MrBill » Sat Dec 09, 2006 9:38 pm

Just returned my Plat 900's for the snow fone
My MP3 player sounded like shit. I found some ear pubs that work very good with the collett set-up.
Sony MDR-J10 at K-mart for 9.99 These have the loop over the ear and the speakers point forward so you may still hear the collet system as we are running the trail. (No tape Old Trucks)

No Tape? What fun would that be? I'm having problems with mine too, I need to find a better system for the music. I'll probably do what I did on the Rhino and go to speakers with a remote volume control.

We just went with the sno phone from the beginning. We even got blemished units at a discount. I've found that while out in my Bronco, I really didn't listen to that much music. Though, I have thought about trying it out on the quad. I'm curious, don't you find the music distracting? (Damm I must be getting old  )

You're getting old Dennis  Depends on the riding and who you're riding with. In Nevada the music is great, long periods where you're seperated and just cruising it really comes in handy. Even crawling around it's nice. The music turns off when someone talks so you don't miss anything.

Ken it was funny. When Larry and I got out away from the gang out at Mina. We would stop for a short break (smoke for bill) and Larry would be singing
About a month ago I was at wall-mart and for $47.00 they had 1gig MP3 players. So I got one and I have now stepped into the 90's.
I was trying it out hooked in to the Collett and I did not like the sound so I found the ear buds that hang from the top of your ear and don't go in your ear all the way so you can still hear the collett and have good sounding tunes.

I got the same reaction from brad and gang when on the last trip in Mina.

Was listening to my MP3 player and they all thought it was distracting -

It makes the long rides MUCH more enjoyable to have some great tunes running with you -

Playlist for the right type of terrain is fun as well..
