Another Collett post

Postby oldtrucks » Wed Oct 10, 2007 1:42 pm

I bought three units from Collett last year. Had some problems and finally sent them in for repairs. Just got them back today, completely rebuilt. They even went through and replaced bad cells in my batteries. All new speakers and updated all the firmware. FREE, just had to pay $18 in shipping

Bill I was really impressed at their attention to detail. I packed everything up and they checked it all out, updated and replaced everything that was damaged. They sent me three new sets of speakers and I had only sent them the one set I had that was frayed. I didn't expect them to even look at the batteries, I only included them because they're all in one tupperware with the radios and I didn't want to separate them. They went through and inventoried everything, if there was anything missing or damaged they fixed or replaced it, no charge :D

Tupperware....NIIIIIIIIIIIIIICE.

Actually...i have the same story. Dusty and I both had radios on the fritz. I sent 'em back....and they replaced several parts...came back working perfectly.

Mine was more than 18 bucks though....no fault of theirs....I sent 'em UPS for tracking purposes....I had to pay $35 of Canadian Duty on something I ALREADY OWNED! Assholes. Next time...USPS.

If you pack in Tupperware you don't have to "decorate", they're pretty enough to ship

It looks like all radio headsets have problems at some point. It has been so long since I've ridden that I can't remember if my headset worked last time or not.

What's the reason for that?

I do like that the Collett's have a 3 year warranty.

Conflicting schedules. We're headed to Tonopah on the 15th of next month for five days of rides. If you wanna come out let me know. I know you miss the Clown motel. 8)

How long do the batteries last and how does everyone charge them overnight when camping?
