Heard of em...never seen anyone actually use them.

I seriously doubt you would enjoy driving around with them, trying to make turns...and you certainly couldn't go too fast with them. I could see them being useful on a farm, not getting stuck, etc. But for ATV riding for pleasure, that's a pretty expensive experiment to find out you hate it.
