Kolpin Matrix contoured bags

Postby Norcalbmxer » Sun Apr 19, 2009 9:00 pm

Kolpin's Matrix contoured bag

Ive seen other guys on here that have this set of bags and they worked great, except for eventually the zippers acted up (after lots of rugged riding mind you)

Normally these bags run over $150

Kolpin has some in the bargain bin right now for $51.99, the only hitch though is brown is the only color available. If your not picky like me (this is no time for the f*cking honda jokes boys) brown is an excellent color since they all seem to turn that color anyway with enough dirt riding...

Get it while its in the bargain bin!

I tried one of the Kolpin Matrix bags and it fell apart pretty quick. Even at a great price I wouldn't do it again.

No problem. When I first got it I really liked the versatility of the Matrix bag, unfortunately it fell apart. The stitching came apart and I the zippers never liked the dust. Take a look at the American Trails or Tamarack bags, both are similar to the Kolpin, but use magnets instead of zippers

Did you ever get a bag? The American Trails Rear bags are on sale for $109.

This link has some details and pictures on the bag I'm talking about;

Same bag I have and it is great! I have never had a dust intrusion problem - except the top which is just a rolled closure. The bags and the drink holders are removable and the dividers in the large compartment are adjustable and removable. It is semi hard sided so it retains it's shape no matter how little or how much crap you have stuffed in it.

I give it two thumbs up!! :thumbsup: :thumbsup:

I inherited mine from the previous owner and was a little gun shy after my experience with the Kolpin Matrix. I've been pleasantly surprised how sturdy it is and never had any issues with dust or rain getting in.

I haven't gotten one yet but I like the looks of that one! It shows as $149 on the site you posted, however.
