LED vs.PIAA HS1

Postby Lope » Sat Jun 27, 2009 8:36 pm

The light is stand alone and easily installed. I purchased from Larry at www.offroadobsession.com after our Tonopah ride this year. Having seen it in action I was sold. This light negates the need to use your headlights. At 1920 lumens, 2 amps and 23 watts, it's amazing technology. The garage shots don't do it justice. Trust me it's bright and, covers a much wider and greater distance than anything I have ever seen. The photos are in sequence from the light to low beams only, high beams only and the LED only.

I disagree. A set of comparable HID's will set you back at least that and you probably wont have as much light. Most ATV's and Side X Sides factory electrical is marginal, add those HID's and you're exceeding the capability of the machine. The LED's make more light and do it far more efficiently

Think of this Derrick, what would you have given to have a light like this that night we rolled down Dunlap Canyon or that night across Garfield Flat? I think at that point it would be priceless

It is not cheap I will give you that. But you get what you pay for and it is a high quality light. Nothing else being offered has this kind of light output and efficiency. For me, having more light on night rides is a huge improvement in safety. You can easily out ride the OEM lights at night in the desert. This light allows you the opportunity to ride at speed comfortably.

Just my opinion.

Lope.
