I have the Delorme PN30 and have been very very happy with it. The one downside for me is the crappy PC software it comes with. The unit itself is awesome.

I'm interesed in the Delorme's also. What's crappy about the software? I think they all make it too complicated in some ways. Will the pn-30 let you use nat. geo. back roads topo on it? Somewhere i think i read that you could use different mapping programs with it.

The software is REALLY not user intuitive. It's almost like they re-worded stuff that's commonly found on almost all other apps so they could be "different" - It's not impossible - but it does take a while to pick it up to where you're comfortable with it. The thing that sux for me is that if I learn something, I tell myself that I'll remember it.....yeah.....rite.....I never end up remembering LOL

I have the Garmin 60CSX it's actually my first garmin that's worked properly on the trail and with clouds... so I`m happy, loaded with CA/NV maps(trails) it works great.

Way to small screen to do any navigating while moving you must stop and study which gets old fast.

If I can get the same Garmin Maps on a lowrance I'd get a 5 or 6" and mount that sucker up!! That would be awesome.
