Polaris EBS question

Postby ACLakey » Sat Aug 19, 2006 9:26 pm

I was told by a local dealer today that the new Polaris quads have four wheel ebs, is this a true? Chadd or anybody wish to confirm? We test rode an 800 and 700 EFI and I have to say that I was impressed. I was quoted 6799 otd for an 06 700 EFI, so I am seriously concidering it.

Andrew,

The Deluxe Model has Active Decent control...or something like that. It has to be the Deluxe model....if that's what you want.

What he said.. the standard models have standard EBS the Deluxe models have ADC (four wheel EBS) only on the 07 models. With the Deluxe package you get rear rack extender, winch, aluminum wheels.. I would buy a 06 model and get 500 bucks off and a free winch.. Who needs ADC anyways..

Chadd was the price he quoted sound reasonable, can you guys beat it? This quad has really got me thinking about Polaris. If they only sounded like the Kawasaki v than it would be a no brainer :D

No winch. I would need a winch and would like a front brush guard as well. The 800 was quoted to me for $2000 more...I is just not worth it to me. A 700 with a clutch kit will suite me very nicley.

Well Drew, I dont think you'll need a clutch kit with the 06. I swapped my 05 primary with the new style 06 and there is a difference. Lots of bottom end and the EBS will almost stop the machine on steep grades at idle. Its a big improvement from the 05.

The 700 and 450 are not available with the ADC in a Deluxe model. Only the 500 and 800. This idea from Polaris is totally retarded. The ADC is great but only offering it on selected models sucks. They did the same thing with EBS. The dinks at Polaris should apply the new technology to all models. They develope the improvements because the public demand better machines. To only use new tech on selected machines is friggin stupid. I really dig my 700 EFI and get by fine without ADC but if I could have it I would for sure.

It is dumb....

I know my dealer is not happy about it at all...he's right...he's gotta have 2 of each one, and various colors....

and the bottomline is....if he only has a Deluxe and his competitor has the standard...a newbie is going to go for price everytime.
