Sportsman front locker question???

Postby ATV'er » Sat Apr 07, 2007 5:24 am

It seems like lately that my front locker is not disingaging right. If I have it in AWD and move it to 2wd it is not disingaging corectly. I thought maybe it could be bound up so even with turning right to left to try to free it, it still did not do it. I went ahead and changed the fluid and still having the same problem. If I feel that it is still locked up even with the switch off I can stop and put it is reverse and it will disengage. Any body had this problem before? Does anybody have some insite?

Thanks

Scott

It's an electrical "event"...but that shouldn't cause it to disengage. Have you tried turning it off, then seeing if it's still engaged? That would rule that out quickly.

What year is it? Put it up on Jackstands, turn off the AWD and give it gas and see if it Engages the front Diff.. If it does your ring gear is permenitly magnatized..

I will try to put it on jack stands. Its a 2006. I was reading on the high lifter web site in there forum that some times this is common with polaris. It still doesnt seem right though. Last time I was out it was disengaging about half the time. I am going to ride fordyce today so I will see what happends.

Made to to fordyce today. Not much snow. The trail was pretty rough. I have pictures but can't post them. I can send them to someone if they want to post them.

I came in from the eagle lakes exit. Went though the first creek crossing which was low, that was a good thing. Keep on going to the next creek crossing and then turned around and came out.

SWEET pics.

I'm surprised the flow was so low...they must be in fill mode. How was winch hill 1?

We turned around just before winch hill #1. We were only planning on going to the first creek crossing but couldnt resist crossing since it was so low.

Planning on going to the rubicon next weekend. Heading up saturday in the morning if anyone wants to head up there. I havent been since I was up in febuary. Here is a pictures what it looked like in Feb.
