Sticking in low range

Postby GPER » Thu Oct 25, 2007 2:01 pm

I got it running today and took a little ride, it ran great in high range forward and reverse. Then I stuck it in low range and had a heck of a time getting it out. It will shift ok as long as the motor isn't running so is this just a matter of adjustment or something else???????

Try turning the Idle down. If the Idle is too high the clutch will have a little drag on the trans.
If this is not it the detent(spelling?) need lube. small ball with spring that stops at each gear position

Thanks
You know the funny part..
You never told us what year and model it is
I'm thinking that this is a Series 10 Ranger 500 6x6 A10RF50AB
You should find the VIN number so we can be sure about the parts lists given.

Should be one on the frame. Usually on the side, on the "driver" side.

I checked all over or all under and never found a vin number. I found the engine & trany numbers I need to figure out when the thing was made so I can get the right thermal switch. I did find a tag that said the radiator was made in 97.
