not to mention i didn't drive it at all last year because i kept tryin' to fix it :(

I was in this exact situation. The issue is, you cannot get in to get that clip with the pliers. What has to be done is with the axle in the vise, get a BIG hammer, and a BIG socket (one that will allow you to pound on the outer race/cage and slightly push the clip section on the backside down, which will then allow you to get to the one on the front). Previous to 05 this was easier, the clips just came out without the extra pounding.

Its kinda sketchy because your brain tells you you should be able to just do it with the pliers without all that extra force.

Once you swadge it back, you can get all the parts loose, pull the boot off, slide the new one one/etc/etc///.

Are you running Stick Stoppers? I went to these on the front and haven't torn one since...

I bought just the regular one the dealer had, I didn't do much research before I bought it.

The stick stoppers replace the stock plastic ones to prevent sticks/crap from getting up in towards the CV boot and tearing them...
