Gregg I see you are in ventura. Can you still get up the rose valley. I remember a trail that would get you to the back side of the TOPO mountains.

The Los Padres NF Rangers have pretty much closed everything in Ventura County area subject to further notice. They won't reopen till April 30 at the earliest. They even closed Hungry Valley though I heard BC 109 and Ballinger are open. There are no ATV trails that I know about in Rose Valley. There are hiking trails and I think, a back trail to Nordhoff Ridge that is street legal only.

I go to the Jawbone / Dove Springs area mostly for day trips (and camping) as there are thousahds of miles of trails. Pismo sometimes too. For longer trips, Rasor Rd., Stoddard Wells and Occotillo Wells / Truckhaven.

Where are you located?

Mr. Bill,

I see you put 700 front springs on your 500. How much of a difference did it make? Between the winch, flat gas can, brush guard and my fat ass, I could use a little front end lift.........

Hey Gregg, Polaris makes spring spacers that are about twenty bucks. They market them for snow plow users, but they just give a little extra support.

They are a pair of hard rubber spacers that you slide in between the coils. That's it. For twenty bucks it may be worth a try.

Gregg,
The 700 springs made all the differance in the world. this is the way it should of come. I've add a lot of weight up front. Brush gaurd, Winch, clam shell box for rigging equipment. I even ordered the springs in red to match the rear arms. Just took off 10 to 15lbs with a new 65ft Amsteel cable along with Al. Roller. The Polaris spacers are rubber and I've heard that they will spit out with hard riding. I live in Camino, Ca. just off of Hwy 50

Progressive has the spring spacers/adjusters that I wish I could get for my front, but as of today they only sell the hole set-up(springs and adjusters) as shown in the picture. If a lot of us keep asking them they make sell just only the adjusters. There are times I wish I had a little more lift.
Thanks for the Welcome from the homies in the hood. LOL...

A homies.. got any good places to go for a short day trip rides?

1. Lots of logging roads off of Mormon Immigrant Trail.

2. Out of Pollock, follow Forebay road down to the So. Fork of the American and back up the ridge on the North side of the canyon and there's a seldom used OHV area (more logging roads essentually)

3. Or best of all, go out towards the Rubicon, McKinstry Meadows, Airport flats, Loon lake, Wentworth Springs...all of that general area has some fun riding.

Go to the Forest Service office and they'll give you a map of El Dorado Nat'l Forest with a many trails mapped.
