Polaris price questions?

Postby zuknasty » Mon Feb 14, 2005 6:54 am

Hey guys yall seem to have it going on about polaris ATV's.
I am looking at a 500ho 2002 model with a winch and rack extenders, the bike is in super shape his son works for polaris, he wants payoff 3800. Is this a good price. And what is a good price on a 05 500ho?

Thanks Darby

I think Gregg just bought a 2005 500 HO for $6,700.

As Miyagi said....without knowing how it was serviced, how many miles it has on it (what type of miles)....it sounds like a good deal.

$6700.00 with a winch ($6,500.00 without it) out the door including tax, license, doc fees, assembly and anything else the dealers try to sneak in. Heres a link to the current prices for this dealer. if you are out of state they will not charge the 7.25% sales tax.

The price you were quoted sounds very good for a used one if it is in good clean condition with out too many hours/miles. I was originally going to buy used (I hate buying new and taking the initial depreciation) but the resale value of a one or two year old Sportsman was so high that when I factored in shipping and tax/license, it was almost the cost of a brand new one.

I don't know where you are located but there is a dealer in Chattanooga Tn. that is rediculously inexpensive. People on other BBS talk well of them.

On another note:

Was out riding in the Tehachapi's yesterday. Recent rains made for some gooey spots. The new body style has lots of "Mud Catcher" nooks and crannies. Made worse cause some of the mud was waterlogged cow chips. Was riding with the family so nothing hard core, just some very scenic new trails. its supposed to rain on and off all week so it should be mud all over next weekend.

Just got back from the local dealer, he quoted me 6270.00 out the door that includes tax. He said if want winch or anything else he will sell it to me at cost. I think I'm going to pass on the 02, I like the look of the 05 and the inprovements. Anybody know what cost is on the warn 2500 is?

List is $479 for the Polaris kit. Polaris is offering a deal where you can get it for $99 but that is based on paying list price for the quad. My dealer gave it to me for $200, in the box, on top of his discounted price. He told me that Polaris rebates the dealers $250 cash if they don't sell the bike with a winch. The price you were quoted sounds very good (it does include sales tax?). What part of the country fdo you live in?

That price does include tax. I just got off the phone of the guy with the used one. The bike is a 2002 500ho it has 800miles, winch, rack extensions, ramps, gun rack and aftermarket wheels and tires. The owner son is a polaris mech. He wants to upgrade to a 800, he wants the payoff of 3800. Alright guys is this a deal or go new? Somewhere along the way I will have to get a bike for the wife, I was thinking smaller but, maybe not.

Thanks
Darby

$3,800 sounds real good for the 2002 loaded up as you decribe with 800 miles (do you know if they were trail miles or mud whomping miles?). The extras are close to $1000.00 by themselves. Is that LA as in Louisiana or LA as in Los Angeles. If it is in Los Angeles, I'll take it if you dont (subject to inspection).
