Did I get screwed???
Picked up my quad today. It was supposed to be a 2008 Sportsman 800 HO.
Now, the gas tank sticker shows 800 twin, but no HO. Production date is 7-20-2007. I was to get an identical one that was in storage.
The only visual difference I can see are two mufflers and header pipes on the '08 compared to the Y-pipe and single muffler on my friends '07.
Just need to be sure before I blow a gasket.
Is this an HO or not?
How can I tell?

2008 Polaris SP800 HO
1999 Polaris SP500
2008 Suzuki M-50
1988 Honda VLX 600
I've been told I joke around too much.
So one day I tried being serious.
Everybody laughed!

The '08s were supposed to have a 10% increase in power.ATV'er wrote:None of the Polaris are true HO. Last years 800 are the same as a 800 HO. Its just a sticker they put on there to help sell there product. The engine specs are exactly the same.
I don't want to throw a fit if it is only a sticker we are talking about.

Scott's right - I asked the dealer and that's exactly what they said. No difference between a "non" HO and HO other than the sticker.
As far as the production date - yeah, that's an '08. I have an '04 and it was manufactured in Feb '03. THe true tell is in the VIN. I foget which digit, but the DMV will know and will tell the model year.
EDIT: From what I can tell, it's the 10th digit in the VIN. If yours is an 8, you got the '08 model.
