high mileage 700-800's?

Postby Stumppuller » Mon Nov 30, 2009 7:19 am

I'm just wondering what kind of miles people are getting on there twins as I have just over 3200 miles on mine now and about 220hrs, and wondering how long these twins can go for without any problems. My buddies 03 700 had the connecting rod go at around this mileage but they were known in 02-03 for blowing up.
I work and ride mine hard but use LOW when I should be using it, and use my head too. We have 3 800's in the family, and right now the most miles is 4000 without any issue's. So far.

I had an SP 03 700 with over 7,000 miles on it with 0 problems other than boots. Also had a SP04 500 with over 9,500 miles the same.

I tested a 09 SP 850XP and had over 2,000 miles on it with 0 problems as well.

Maintaince is the Key.

I have a friend with 2 Bombardier 400 2 seaters with 15,000 on 1 and 9,000 on the other. No motor issues just something like 22+ frame breaks but he keeps weilding it back together.
We ride the mountains in the summer and the deserts in the winter.

I have a 06 with over 2000 miles.

I will have to put a new frame in before a motor. Well I hope... Polaris frames in the sportsman suck. Ken and I have broken ours both. All in the same areas.
