Help with Dan's Footwell Skidplates

Postby js73751 » Tue Jan 12, 2010 6:10 pm

Sent this e-mail to Dan last week but have had no response. Hoping someone might be able to help with guidance or photos... :?:

Thanks, Joe

Hi Dan. Well I did everything I could to avoid sending this embarrassing e-mail including looking for pics in the old ATV Obsession posts. Back in May of 2006 I ordered and received a set of your new and improved foot-well skid plates for my Polaris 800 (invoice 00007152). I recall you explaining to me the install and said that once I saw them it would be pretty easy to figure out. Well here I am almost 4 years later and apparently losing my touch because for the life of me I cant figure out how to mount these! I can't even tell which is the right and which is the left. I have removed the foot-well and see were some of the holes line up but after spending about 1/2 hour rotating and flip the pieces I have given up and swallowed my pride and need to ask for help. HELP!

I won't laugh...cause Kendo will come swoop in, and give me grief.

What year do you have?? pre-2005 or 2005 or later?

Ok. I get home Friday, then I can give detailed instructions. Even pics if you like.

Ok, From this pic it looks like the box tubing goes on the outside of the footwell!

Well after finding the above pic I went outside to look at my quad, and the plates, and within 30 minutes they were both on. I must have had a real case of brain fade because it was so obvious as to how they mounted! Glad I found the photo!

Thank GOD...LOL

I was just going to post that I tried to get a photo...but it's been pouring here...and the only way to get a good photo was take off the Footwell.
