polaris 700 EFI diagnosis

Postby stewart8 » Thu Apr 21, 2005 7:03 pm

I have a 700 EFI polaris and after being stuck in water up to the seat it will no longer idle right. it goes from 800 rpm to 1500 rpm and if i adjust the idle screw it makes it worse. I have replace the spark plugs, cleaned out the throttle body, and changed the fuel filter. could it be the throttle position sensor? It runs really good at normal speeds. :?

I'd get an EFI... Just kiddin.

That's an interesting one... Ken, Jack or Thrasher might have an idea. If not, I can point you to www.atvwild.com

Seems to be lot's of mechanical Polaris nuckleheads on that site... lol

Even the ones from CANADA know something.... However, only in metric.

Hey Stewart...Welcome.

Moab= ATV Mecca

If you had a Carb, my suspicion would be water in the float bowl. Since it's EFI....you have maxed out my knowledge.

Actually...I would go to ATVTime. There's a guy on there called PolarisTech. Nice guy and he answers questions.

Not to be the bearer of bad news, and I hope I'm wrong, but I seem to recall that the user on ATVTime known as PolarisTech was killed in a motorcycle crash about a year ago.
