Got my new Sportsman (800 EFI)!

Postby RobG » Mon Jun 06, 2005 10:45 am

On Thursday, I got back into town early and picked up my new Sportsman 800 EFI in Mossy Oak Camo!

Man what a beast! I've only ridden about 40 miles since I got it (Fri eve) and then again yesterday, but holy cow this thing is POWERFUL. Mileage is good too... 32 miles on Fri and got 16 mpg, 18 miles on Sun and got 13 mpg (slow going, rocks, etc).

I'll post pix when I have some good ones later...

That's BAD ASS Rob.

The 800 is sort of insane....but in a good way. Night and day to the carb model, eh?

By the way...we are going this weekend. We'll be at Loon Lake Friday/Saturday. Just going to base camp, and ride around both days....so car camping. No need to pack gear on the bikes.

We'll be either just after the fee campground, where it turns to dirt road...or we'll be in the fee section. Jack's going to be there around 10AM on Friday...so it won't be difficult to get a spot.

If there were, they'd be scams probably. Although, I have in fact seen a few 800 EFIs on there in recent weeks, all for near-new prices.

I know that Steve (Eddie Bauer) got his on ebay for a killer deal, just had bald tires, which he was going to replace anyways. . . I might go tomorrow to a dealer just to look them over. . . wonder if i would get a better deal down in So cal or up in Northern California. . .

Come over here to Reno... the local dealer where I got mine will do ya right. Or give him a call... owner's name is Bill. Tell him I sent you. Seriously.

I know he has at least one red/black and one silver/black left. I got his last Camo one.

Do you know how buying out of state works when it comes to quads. I know with Cars you get raped registering it here. . . .

Steve got his for $6,600 on Ebay in Illinois. It was a 2005, with 221 miles. He paid $375 to ship it.

Not sure what a new one is going for...so that's $6,975 before tax/registration.

Ken,
when you bought your quad how much was it to register here in Calif? did you have to pay Ca sales tax or anything when you bought it?
