Full review of a Polaris 700-800 EFI????

Postby Stumppuller » Tue Jun 28, 2005 12:32 pm

Can someone do all us potential buyers a good ride REVIEW, I mean hands on review, maybe even a few PICS would be nice. I haven't seen a good one yet. Has anyone done any big trips that they can give a good review about, how does they stack up aginst the competition, and I don't mean speed wise but durability, work, mud, deep water, woods riding, gas consumption, comfort.
Another question why aren't there any rides happening with some more good video's on this site, there hasn't been much action, thought I would of seen some EFI's by now performing. Dusty are you not riding with this crew anymore??? I'd like to see that 800 in some good video clips.

Thanks

I can provide an even more thorough review in a week or so, since I have a big trip planned over the holiday weekend.

I can tell you though that I have about 235 miles on it now and it's doing great!

I've noticed the lack of new video's and pics, most are of 03-04 here, seems like the trips and photo's and video's have been minimul, hope those Polaris's are holding up and not in the shop all the time. This site has helped me want a 800 EFI, as before I was leaning towards the grizz, but now its that big 800 SP.

Anyhow, lets get some review's going and some more pics and vids.

Thanks

I still crack up at Terry 'hiding' in the trees on our last Downieville ride....I went right past him....sneaky fawker. He came out, and I thought we were busted for "something"

Okay,

Seeing that you 800 guys had a big ride on the weekend, can we get a good review of the 800's, and some more pics and vid's would be great.
I'm interesting in hearing what everyone has to say about there machine's, how did they perform and how as the gas mileage, any problems, ride quality, is it built to the standards of a Grizzly for example.
What kind of miles do you have on them now.
A FULL review would be great from an actual owner.

Thanks

There's a video of Dusty's 800 on the site...Posted yesterday. Keep up with me! LOL....just yankin' ur chain.

It will display some 800 power....

There were (I think) 2 800 EFI and 1 700 EFI. Other than Rob shakin' loose his battery connection...No issues.

We went 67-68 miles....from flat dirt roads...to steep technical rocks (see video) to flat, paved HIGHWAY  ...we did it all.

RobG,

Now that you have some real seat time on this thing, can you give us first a full review and second a comparisent to your 02 Grizzly, how does the 800 EFI stack up.
I got the pleasure of testing a 800 EFI on the weekend, and from my seat time I can say I've never been on something more powerful and smooth. want one real bad now. : )
Thanks

800 rocks

Postby mudmedic » Thu Jul 28, 2005 7:03 am

Overall I have no complaints about my 800. I have gotten it stuck in the mud a few times but that is because I keep going through the stuff that I don't think it will get through. Most of the time the machine surprises me and makes it, other times it does'nt. I have certainly never had a problem in the power department, but big power also means big fuel consumption. Why do snowmobiles have such a large fuel tank (mine carries 12.6 gallons) and the quads carry so little? My overall feeling about the 800 is that I have no regrets what so ever about buying this machine!

It's funny, my sled carries 11 gal... and my quad 4.5...lol A bigger tank would be nice....

BTW - I think RobG is on his way (moving) to Montana.
