Any of you 2005 owners having problems?

Postby ACLakey » Thu Jul 14, 2005 7:30 am

I am still thinking about an 06 500 EFI when it comes out but I noticed several guys with the 05's having problems. Some of the guys I ride with are having head bolts back out and other annoying but not major problems. My uncle in Idaho bought one in late June and we went on a ride while I was over there during the 4th holiday. The quad had 75 mi on it and it stopped running. I had to tow him 15mi back to the truck...he is not happy right now. Are these isolated incidents or are you seeing problems with quality control on your machines? I am not here to bash Polaris so don't take this the wrong way. Any information before I spend my money would be appriceated.

Andrew

I have over 600 miles on my 05 and i have had zero problems. The only problem i have seen was on a 05 700 efi and the tps went out. Still ran just ran a little rich.

Buffalo....mostly summer? or winter riding? I've been to Buffalo, do you go riding in the US or slip over into Canada?

I am having problems with '05

Postby mswinston » Mon Aug 29, 2005 4:23 pm

I think we bought a lemon. Last week, breaks went. Determined that only one brake pad was put on machine. This ruined the caliper and rotor. Only 243 miles on machine. Warranty expired last month. Polaris wont cover it. Dealer is a nightmare to deal with. Very rude. Now master cylinder is gone too. Also have coolant seal that is leaking. Hard to believe that $8k for a machine gets you 6 months of warranty and no one willing to help. Called Polaris, no help either. Wrote to president of Polaris. Doubt they will help... Own two '05 machines. Only wish I had done more research before I bought...

Wow... missing parts. Great quality control.... Sorry to hear about your "lemon". That's not good.... I'd start filing complaints.

Polaris probably won't cover the brake problem because your dealer should have cought that stuff at setup and he should pay for it. hate to say it but your dealer should be able to help based on what your saying.

Het Chadd, Is it possible to have Polaris put pressure on the local dealer? If so, how would you recommend he do that?

Exactly...

Sounds like a crappy dealer. Polaris should be unhappy about it.
