Skid Plate - 2005 Sportsman 700 EFI

Postby davenbaez » Mon Oct 17, 2005 5:10 am

Can anyone tell me where I can get a skid plate (alluminum or polyethylene/plastic) for my '05 Sportsman 700EFI (newer bodystyle)?

Everywhere I go I find Gen X, etc. or 02-05 which doesn't seem right (05's are different than o4's - right?). I'm usually pretty good at searching the Internet, but haven't found anything. PLEASE HELP!!!

Daven

Thanks for the reply, but the links above did not have a skid plate for the '05-'06 Sportsman. Maybe I'm missing it, but what was there looks like it's for 2004 & prior? For '05 all they had at pro-armor was A-arm guards for the 700 EFI.

The Pro Armor stuff is for 2002 to 2005. You can always call too.

And my video is still there!

All,
Thanks for the reply. Just gave them a call. She said she had a different part number for 04/05 and they'll take it back if it doesn't fit for some reason - guess I'll go with them. Appreciate all the help - it's nice not to have to wait months for a reply - you guys are quick!

P.S. Just for my own curiosity, I know the 04's and 05's look different, but are the frames the same? (It's the same part number of both at Pro Armor.

Glad I'll be able to stop tearing up my belly on the rocks!

04-05 frames are almost the same.. I think the only differance is the front and rear cab mounts and the foot well mounts.. The under side of the frame should be the same.

My new Pro-Armor skid plate and A-arm guards fit "like a glove"...... on my 2005 MV7, they are listed to fit 2003 and up 700 Sportsman.

I never would have found Pro-Armor if it werent for this site....

Thanks Ken..!

You're welcome.

It's good stuff. The only "defect" is the front skid plate, uses that Curved J piece.....I DESTROYED IT!!!

So I got a bolt with a Hook...5/16 and cut off the excess.
