'05+ Polaris Racks
It didn't dawn on me, but it looks like the accesories that I strapped or bolted down to the '04 rack and front bumper don't transfer over well to the '05 and later racks. Guess I could get the drill and dremel out, but think I will go on the market for a new box, gas container system, and bow rack.

MrBill, with the accessories I had, I would need to drill and possibly temporarily remove the access box underneath the rack to access the bolts that came through the rack. Not near as many "pass through" openings on the new rack.

To me, something proprietary should fill an extra measure of usefullness to the end user.
On this new boondoggle, trying to carry two flat packs up front is an interesting exercise. The inside of the boondoggle looks challenging to utilize, given all the wierd molding planes in there. I think the most efficient way to use that space is to open two large bags of Doritos (or better yet cheese popcorn) and dump them in..

The only things that are worth a nickel are a gas can and rack that extends off the back (5 gal. w/o spill proof nozzle...from cabelas..you can see it in one of hte photos linked off my signature) and a bow holder that I bolted to the front bumper (i used it to hold a bow, riffle and even survey equipment like lathe and rod).

LOL...popcorn.
The inside of the front rack...to me a just bonus space. Steve has maps, tools, and jerky and such in there.

The guys standing around one of these new machines, shooting the bull... Digging handfuls of cheese popcorn out of it...Quadgoddess wrote:Popcorn! ....lol...that could be used as a GPS back-up......I didn't see that advertised on Montana Jacks website ??? Butter would probably stick better than the air-popped...
I like that term: boondoggle
You know, that storage area could be filled with Halloween candy.. Like baby Snickers bars or even Tootsie Pops. How many jelly beans would fit in there I wonder.

I think it's an excellent place for all those things you bring on a ride and hope to god you'll never use...... Mine will have a gas pack or two on it (I bought two). Otherwise, I'll be using my rear tool and storage box for all the $h!t I need right now.
Hey BradM, how was your week ride?
