Clutch issue's...I think?
Friend's 04 700 seems to engage real hard at around 1400rpm. If you slowly advance throttle from idle while in gear nothing happens until then. And at that point "bam" its engaged. Any ideas? belt? primary? secondary? springs? Going to take it apart soon just wondering if this is an ordinary problem or something more serious.
Thx BC.

Sounds like the belt with teeth missing.

BC...Thanks for posting this question/answer! My 04's been doing that for a few months now...but only in High. I figured it was belt wear, but didn't think it was going to pop very soon. I'll buy one VERY soon...tomorrow maybe when I order my BAP-T sensor!

RT if you change the belt make sure to check the duct-tube for the cool air inlet. His was full of bits and pieces of the belt no longer than 2 or 3 inches. Heres a pick of that mess...most of the peices inside the cover are what we pulled from the ductwork. My 04's been doing that for a few months now...but only in High. I figured it was belt wear, but didn't think it was going to pop very soon.
