Boy I got a fun one to work on. My friend at work has one of these and I'm doing some on it. 400CC 2 stroke this baby move.
Just doing some clutch, brakes, and general tune-up.
Took a run down the street the other day and when that power band kicks in the front wheels float about 1 to 2" off the ground.

Those bikes are fast!!! A friend of mine has one with a 440 big bore and everything else you can do to the motor.. It's scary fast...

There 2wd and the same body as the Scrambler.

MrBill..Check under the float bowl and make sure any wires in contact with the bottom of the bowl are not worn. Thats the same bike that caught fire on a group of us one day. Not sure if its the lead off the starter or something else but its something to look at while you have it.

I had a 95 400 scrambler it was one of the frist one's in northern Nevada when it came out. The old owner of the Polaris shop in Fallon was a friend of mind. At that time I was riding Yamaha quad's and I'm glad that he talke me into it. The power was impressive.
I used to race it in the hare & hound race's up there they were mainly a 100 mile race. So basicly sense Sept. of 94 I've hooked on Polaris. 8)

Well got her done.
I know why they done have speedo's
You just don't want to know how fast you are going
Rebuild brakes.
Tune up.
Two steps up on a heavier primary spring for higher RPM engagement .
Rebuild heat shields.
P.S. BC this model has the starter on the bottom of the engine, so no wires around the carb. Thanks
