Polaris Sportsman 500 Price$$$

Postby Pepe » Sun Jul 25, 2004 10:22 pm

I am buying a 1996 Polaris Sportsman 500 (non HO) from a friend and I really dont know what they sell for. It has 2200 mi., everything is stock and origional with the exception of the battery. The tires have about 1/2" of tread left. NADA shows it for a low of $1600 and high of $2200. I could get a new one for about $6000. This was owned buy one of my hunting partners who is now 80 years old so it was well taken care of and not abused. I just want to give the guy a fair price. For what its worth I already have a sportsman 700. This will be for my wife for when she wants to tag along. :D

That's an interesting question. Personally, If the quad looks in relatively good shape and the individual selling the bike is a friend. If the bike has a low BB value of $1600 and a high BB value of $2200, split the difference...

In other words, offer $1900... It's a win, win..... If he's your friend, sometimes it's not about getting the best deal... :).

That's just my take... Good luck.

That's what I'd do. Split the difference between Low and High.
