I did this mod to my Grizz last week and love the outcome. I no longer have to either pull the rear break lever or step on the rear foot break in order to shift from reverse to high/low range.

I did not bend the arm nearly as much as shown in the picture to clear the plunger that is activated by the break. The lever locks the trany in place which forces you to hold the break to shift.

Here is another way to accomplish the same, but requires more work.

I can tell you the shifter works much smoother now than it ever did. Great mod and only took a few min.

we have the same thing on our Kodiak, but I'm leaving it in operation, the kids ride it :shock:

Sounds like a good idea. It is not a necessary mod, but it is nice not to have to push the break all the time.

Polaris eliminated this in 2006....you still have to stop though.
