The Big Brown truck brought some Bighorns

Postby oldtrucks » Mon Nov 20, 2006 5:42 pm

I'm sitting in the house this afternoon and hear my dog barking. I look out and see a Big Brown Truck backing in the gate. Christmas came Early......Someone sent me a set of 26" Bighorns on ITP wheels.....WOW! Actually Ken had them shipped to me so they wouldn't be sitting on his porch all week while he was gone. I did a little measuring to see how they would compare to mine and his are quite large. First thisng I dropped the pressure from 25 psi + down to 10 psi. I put a front and rear against the wall and measured straight out to a framing square. Front measured about 26 3/4", rears are 27 1/4" . Then I ran a string around and took the circumfrence to get a more accurate measurement. The fronts go right at 84 1/4" and the rears are a touch over 85".

Let's do the math,
84.25 divide by 3.14159 = 26.817" for the fronts
85.125 divided by 3.14159 = 27.096" for the rears.
Both sit taller than the 27" bighorns I currently have on the Rhino. I think once he gets about 30 miles on them the sidewalls and the contact area relax and he will be real close to the 26" mark.
