Paris Hilton headed to court in sheriff's custody Friday for a court hearing on her early release from jail after back-and-forth decisions on whether she could participate by telephone from her home.
Hilton appeared to be in handcuffs when she was placed into a black-and-white patrol car, which sped away from her home with lights flashing as news helicopters followed.
News media waited for her arrival outside a downtown courthouse where a judge was to listen to the city attorney's complaint that the county sheriff did not have the right to reassign her to electronically monitored home detention after only three days in jail for violating probation in a reckless driving case.
On Thursday, Superior Court Judge Michael T. Sauer ordered that Hilton be brought to Friday's hearing. But early Friday a court spokesman announced that she would be allowed to participate by telephone, which is common in misdemeanor cases. Then, in a reversal, the spokesman said the judge had ordered the Sheriff's Department to pick her up and bring her to court.
Given the fact she wasn't allowed to do it by phone...I think the Judge is really pissed.

as i'm writing this, KTLA channel 5 in Los Angeles is running into their 4th hour of news time following a police car that is carrying Paris Hilton back to the courthouse in Downtown L.A.
They just announced on the news the reason for her delay, when Paris found out she was going to have to show up to court she needed to wait for her hair and makeup people to show up and do their thing.
I wish i was making this stuff up! Rolling Eyes

The media stations here reluctantly break in with a "I guess we need to report about this"...then they show the cop car transporting Hilton in what resembled the oh so famous Bronco chase of not so long ago.....like it's important news....not... ....my question is why even bother?
