Yeah...after reading about it. He was only driving a truck 8 days. He had a trainer with him, but he was asleep in the cab. They didn't know about him, till they read the log book. They had to go back to the crashed truck, to look for the body.Kendo wrote:First of all - dude was going WAAAAYYY too fast for that curve.
The Trainer should have been awake and TRAINING an 8 day old driver going down that highway. It's not for noobs.
2 people are dead because he wasn't awake. Sad. I've seen that spot...there was stuff on the side of the road for a year...a few boxes and stuff...and the railing was munched.
There's a longer video, posted by the guy who filmed it. He stops to "help". It's on YouTube as well. The video was an automated video for a trucking company...Rogers I think. He explains it wasn't supposed to be public, and the company was using for training purposes.Kendo wrote:Secondly - the asshole taking the video just drove around the accident?!!?!?!?!

Driving past the accident was probably the smartest thing he could have done. I doubt he could have stopped a loaded truck going down that hill short of the accident anyway. If he did stop the truck the next truck coming down the road would would have had even less distance or time to avoid it. It looks like he pulled over at the safest spot available to himKendo wrote:Secondly - the asshole taking the video just drove around the accident?!!?!?!?!

Well seeing the second "full version" video helps clear it up. I know that section of road too and it is quite narrow. Also realizing this guy was a truck driver helps explain not being able to jsut pull over anywhere.
