That is the MOST CLASSIC, dead on and BALLSY post I've ever read. He's right though...the guy is probably already PISSED about his "mistake"....don't drive it in.

Re: Hillarity at JeepForum.com
we have gone 2 up on my atv out at greenhorn. (i know dont tell the cops)
she made a deal with me. she will wear hiking boots and if she ever wants to walk up an obstacle instead of riding i have to let her
oh and no stacking rocks either thats my job.
that sounded more than fair to me so hopefully 1 to 2 years and i will be in a locked and 4 linked tube buggy

Re: Hillarity at JeepForum.com
Wow - compromise at it's best!
As to Greenhorn (were you talking about the area, or just being 2-up on a 1-up machine? - last I heard, the issue was no more unloading at the beginning of the crappy part of Red Dog Road and riding down it on your green sticker machine, you needed to be parking on the BLM land. Also, you are supposed to stay off whatever private property exists (meaning, stay on the creekbed for the most part). And I think Buckeye Rd is a Tahoe FS road so you're legal there.
Anyone hear anything different? That was probably the info from a year or more ago.

Re: Hillarity at JeepForum.com
i think i broke both laws 2 up on a 1 person machine. and i parked the truck when the road began to get too potholed and rocky, so when i go again i need to go all the way to the edge of the creek bed and park there?? or can i park in the area that has a lot of pull outs before that fun technical steep shortcut.

Re: Hillarity at JeepForum.com
BTW - I'm thinking of the You Bet side, not the Banner/Quaker Hill side of Greenhorn.
What I heard at the time was one particular landowner who was trying to sell had called the sheriff multiple times on green stickers riding on Red Dog Rd, and the sheriff was politely warning people that they could not ride their machines down Red Dog, that they had to park at the creek. I had parked up near Chalk Bluff Rd and had no issues then, but on some later trips, I drove all the way down and there were more people parked at the bottom. However, there were still people parked above - and they were busy running in and out of the private property... I stayed on the creekbed and in the gravel.
Your mileage may vary...
