New CA Handgun Ammo Law IS DEAD!!

Postby GrizzlyGuy » Tue Jan 18, 2011 12:57 pm

It was scheduled to go into effect on Feb 1st, but was ruled unconstitutionally vague by a judge just a few hours ago. More info here.

:D =D>

In other good news... the wife let me order 8,000 rounds of ammo ahead of the ban. Oh well, one can never have enough ammo!

LOL, like Angelo says, 8,000 rounds is nothing. I can easily shoot 200+ rounds in a few hours of target practice and if Tamar goes with me that's another 200+ rounds. Besides... that's only handgun and .22 ammo currently on hand, I didn't even count the rifle and shotgun ammo. :)

BAN THE BAN!

Yep, this is GREAT news! =D> Not just for us Californians, but for all red blooded Americans with a little powder in their veins looking to preserve their constitutional rights! :!:

I have got my wife convinced to allow me to purchase as many boxes of ammo I find on hand at our local Walmart everytime we go... and I have not yet told her the ban was recently overturned.

SHHHH! 8)

haha missed this thread..

Its great that law is dead, and im glad i ordered the ammo before any ways 8) .

p.s. got you beat grizz  i did 5k of .22 , 2k of .40 , and 2k of 9mm for 9k for target + a hundred or so of good carry ammo.

And as you said its not that much.. my brother and i can each shoot 1k+ of .22 ammo on a weekend camp trip.

Ha! I figured Brian would have me out-ammoed and I was right. Maybe we should form an ATVObsession Militia? The forest service is already watching us, we just as well get the FBI and BATFE onto our butts as well. :P

More good news: We'll soon again be able to buy large-capacity magazines in CA. The Calguns Foundation is working on a workaround to the law and they are highly confident that it will work (it's based on the U.S. Constitution but they aren't giving out details). My guess is that this will happen in the next year, maybe sooner. That will make it a lot easier to go through lots and lots of ammo! :D

Even more good news: If you happen to live in El Dorado county, CCW permits are now virtually shall issue thanks to the new sheriff. All the old and illegal requirements (e.g., reference letters) are now gone, and you no longer need to be special. The sheriff will issue you a permit if your good cause is "self-defense". Sacramento county is already that way thanks to the Calguns Foundation's lawsuit that the sheriff there waved the white flag on and settled.

El Dorado County....

You can pack heat in the Supermarket....but you can't ride an evil ATV on most of the dirt roads.

Remember the Valley Elderberry Longhorn Beetle from the DEIS? If those beetles started showing up in El Dorado county supermarkets, they wouldn't worry about people packing heat in the stores: after all, who on earth would waste ammo on a Elderberry Longhorn Beetle?

Nope, the greenies would *ban supermarkets* instead. #-o
