Hey GG,
You can ride from your house to the HLT trail by going past that big log hous on the trukkee right?
I was thinking what a cool loop it would be to go from your house to HLT trail, to boomtown, through Verdi to Henness road(not legal), skirt stampede and Boco, cross the rail road tracks and under the freway back to your house(not legal). :D

ok, id say put the pond on the back burner, and get a bob cat to start building some back stop's for the shooting range  , ill gladly offer my services and ammo to help test it out and sight it in. Your going to have trap shooting of the back deck correct? from the hot tub? o sorry thats my dream home 8)

I hope your still enjoying it, looks like a great place to to turn into your dream home.

Ha! The contractor who is retexturing all the inside walls (don't ask) thinks the bar is really cool looking and wants it for his own place if we decide to replace it. Wifey says it must go eventually. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

Shooting trap off the rear deck, or from the hot tub on cold days would be... EPIC! Unfortunately the house is right up against the property line in the back and there is another house further down the hill and a bit off to the right. We wouldn't be shooting at the house, but I'm thinking they would be none too happy with lead pellets zinging down the hill from beer-guzzling, hot-tub-soaking rednecks swinging 12-gauges around. I don't know if they live there full time, I haven't seen anyone at the house, so maybe... :-k :-$

I hiked around the property yesterday and it looks like I could cut up a few downed logs and make some cool-ish twisty/windy/narrow trails through the forest, kind of like the ones I love to ride in the Prosser Dam/Russel Valley area. That is, if I don't cut my leg off with a chain saw in the process. Everything from the pond north to the road has potential, especially the stuff over on the west side of the driveway (the pink lines are the property lines):

I also got the waterfall partially fired up, it is driven by two big pumps that suck water from opposite sides of the pond. One pump is dead and needs to be replaced (a local guy says he can get them for me at cost) but here is what it looks like with just one pump running:

Image

The back side of the waterfall is about 7-8 feet high and could make for an interesting ATV-perched-on-rocks shot:

Ha! Yeah, I thought about riding but figured I'd better hike along the property lines first so as not to leave any evidence behind if I happened to stray across them. It was probably good that I walked: this property hasn't been logged or cleared at all of downed trees, brush, etc. in a long time so it would be tough to get an ATV into all the places along the lines. That is, until a bunch of you guys stop by to help me build those trails.

Well, I am a proud beer-guzzling, hot-tub-soaking redneck, so if you non-rednecks want to run around in the woods near the hot tub and let me shoot you, I'm all for it!
